Bagni di Lucca is our local spa town which is listed in many books as one of the most beautiful villages in Tuscany with its many bars, shops and eateries. It is within easy access to public transport and roads to major tourist destinations and the Versilian coast. It is approximately an hours drive to Pisa and Florence. The San Gemignano and Chianti areas are approximately and hour and a half away. The beautiful walled city of Lucca is only a half hour drive away, a serious Tuscan gem.
There is plenty to do in nearby Bagni di Lucca and it's villages. You can relax and unwind in the local thermal spas, meditate with yoga or go for a swim in the public swimming pool which also hosts stunning views. For the more adventurous, take a hike up Prato, our neighbouring mountain, which will take you through historical towns and provide spectacular mountain scenery. Hire a quad bike to explore the area or go horse riding, experience a zip wire adventure at Canyon Park, all available through approved companies which we have great links with.

Bagni Di Lucca offers good food, a selection of local wines, olive oils, speciality cheeses, street market days, access to banks and public transport and within close proximity to many other villages and places of interest. You are guaranteed to always get a good cup of coffee and delicious speciality cakes and treats in local coffee shops and traditional Italian food in the local restaurants and eateries. Pietrasanta and Carrara - A world-renowned area for white marble, sculpture and art. In the sculpture yards you can visit works in progress, there are ongoing exhibitions in Pietrasanta. Or you can visit the amazing marble mines and museum of Carrara.
You can take a stroll around nearby Montefegatesi, through the narrow village streets to Dante's memorial and enjoy a cup of coffee in the local coffee shop on your way down, or visit nearby Barga (twinned with Edinburgh) which offers excellent shopping facilities, music and entertainment.
Lucca hosts an amazing music festival in the months of June/July hosting top international performers, they have hosted in the past The Stones, Dillon, Elton John to name but a few. Lucca also hosts an extraordinary COMIC WEEK festival at the end of October, an amazing youth fest - here you can see Darth Vader, Superman, and all other comic heroes.
Gombereto is linked to 23 medieval villages via mule tracks where there are many sacras and festas throughout the year, here you can enjoy traditional dishes as well as art and crafts.
Viareggio hosts a Carnevale in February which is the 2nd largest Carnivale in the world after the Rio Carnevale.
For the skiing and winter sports lovers - Abetone and Cutigliano ski resorts are only 45 minutes away from Casa Marchi, with alpine skiing, cross country skiing and snowboarding on offer. Situated on the mountain pass between Tuscany and Emilia on the main Abetone/Brenero road. After a full day's skiing on the slopes return to Casa Marchi for a delicious 3 course meal prepared by Roy.
