Casa Marchi

About us

Roy & Shirley

Your hosts at Casa Marchi

Roy has been a chef for over 40 years and has worked in many prestigious hotels such as the Mount Nelson, Cape Town, South Africa and the Dorchester in London. Roy is a classically trained chef and member of the "Slow Food" organisation which originated in Italy.

Roy is passionate about Italy and his profession, which is reflected in the dishes he creates. Seasonality, texture, taste and presentation are the essential foundations for his cooking. Roy would be delighted to prepare a dinner for you on your arrival or anytime during your stay. (Additional cost applies and must book in advance)

Italy is renowned for its exceptional quality and choice of wines. Roy will only be too pleased to recommend some of his favourite local wines if you ask. There is always an open bottle somewhere in the villa!

Whilst at Casa Marchi why not take advantage of an afternoon cooking class for a "hands on", stress-less cooking experience in his fully equipped, professional kitchen. His classical training and experience will ensure you return home satisfied with lessons learned and newly gained skills. Click the link below to see more about his cookery school.
